To make a pond it takes some rocks and a few fish,

some life and lots of flow,

and water,

the water itself wont do,

if the amount of life is few.

Kayaking Day One:

Today we went kayaking. I've been canoeing before, but never kayaking. I was really nervous at first because swimming is somewhat difficult for me, but it would only affect me if I tipped over. My friends, Kaylee and Madailein, were both close by to me the whole time. I felt like a natural because I was working through the rapids and I was having so much fun with it. My friend Kaylee got stuck a few times, but I helped her out if I could. I got stuck on a huge log at one point because I went to go help Kaylee and then she ended up figuring it out. The log was controlling the stern of my kayak so basically anyway that I tried to turn, I ended up almost tipping. I ended up figuring it out. The best part was when Kaylee and I tried to tip Madailein because she failed to come save us when we both became stuck. We ended up being 3 of the first people to get to the finishing spot (besides the seniors). The aftermath was stressful because everyone was super cold and wet. Madailein and I were soaked but I'm not really sure why. The whole experience itself was really fun and I would 100% do it again.

When we were kayaking, there were a few moments where I wasn't rowing super fast. In those few moments, I found the quiet and the movement of the water very relaxing. The sound that the water was making made me think of moments with my family and how it's super hectic and crazy but it's all together. The relaxation that I felt today was so fun and I really liked how easy it was to feel that relaxed even though it would take me so much longer to relax in my own house. Spending that time with my friends and rowing 3 miles (Madailein said it was 3 miles, don't quote me), was really fun and I would love to do it again. I'm excited to hike and swim tomorrow.
